v. t. nayani (nine-knee, she/her) is a working artist and storyteller for the screen, with dreams of creating borderless heart work, within and beyond our little-big galaxy. she is the founder of mutuals pictures, a production home rooted in mutual support, which is dedicated to making room for new waves of stories and amplifying fresh voices on screen. currently, she is a resident in the Directors' Lab at the Canadian Film Centre's Norman Jewison Film Program.

at the centre of nayani's craft is care for community. she is ever-grateful to her ancestors, elders, guides, and comrades, for helping ensure that she continues to reach the here, now, and beyond. for over a decade, she's been weaving the elements and creating new worlds in cinema, television, and digital playgrounds. through her heartwork, based in both lived realities and multiple imaginations, nayani explores what it looks and feels like to come of age, at every stage of one's lifetime. with all of her softie tender heart, she is always trying to make stuff that makes us feel stuff.
